Equipped to Go Amazon

Investing in and supporting Indigenous pastors, missionaries, and local leaders as they make disciples and advance the Gospel across the Brazilian Amazon.

Across the Brazilian Amazon, pastors, missionaries, and church leaders are faithfully serving in remote Indigenous and riverside communities, taking the Gospel to places that are often difficult to reach.

This initiative provides training, pastoral care, and ongoing support to equip those who are already serving and help them continue making disciples and carrying out the Great Commission across the Amazon.

The Javari Valley is one of the world’s largest concentration of isolated Indigenous peoples, with approximately seven contacted ethnic groups and dozens of groups living in voluntary isolation. It is the second-largest Indigenous territory in Brazil, covering more than 8.5 million hectares in the state of Amazonas, along the borders with Peru and Colombia.

In this region, a movement of Indigenous churches is committed to sharing the Gospel despite significant geographical challenges and governmental restrictions.

This project exists to strengthen the Indigenous church in the Amazon and its local missionary movement through the ongoing training and support of Indigenous pastors, leaders, and missionaries — both those currently serving and those being prepared for ministry.

Our strategy is built around four main areas.

Theological Training A three-year theological training program provides Indigenous leaders with biblical and ministry preparation, with a particular focus on church planting and revitalization. The program includes monthly online classes and two in-person training gatherings each year in the Amazon.
Missionary Support Indigenous pastors and missionaries receive ongoing financial and pastoral support as they serve in their communities, make disciples, and participate in church planting and revitalization. This support includes missionaries who are already serving as well as those who will be sent into the field.
Connection & Fellowship Because leaders serve across remote areas of the Amazon, maintaining connection is an important part of their training and ministry. Internet access allows pastors, missionaries, and leaders to participate in monthly training.
Multiplication As pastors and missionaries are equipped and supported, they can continue making disciples, developing other leaders, strengthening existing churches, and planting new churches among the peoples of the Amazon.

Partner with local Leaders

You can be part of strengthening the Indigenous church and its missionary movement across the Amazon. There are two practical ways to invest in these leaders.

1 — Missionary Support
Per missionary / month: US$200
2 — Connectivity
10 Starlink terminals & installation: US$3,800
Monthly service, 10 terminals: US$380/mo

Whether by supporting a missionary or helping provide the connectivity needed for training and ministry, your partnership helps equip Indigenous leaders to continue serving and advancing the Gospel.

Through this project, we seek to:

  • Train 40 leaders per class in church planting and revitalization
  • Strengthen the process of sending and supporting Indigenous missionaries
  • Encourage and facilitate the planting of at least 10 new churches each year
