Home / Projects / Leadership Development / Reaching the Himalayas
The Himalayas are home to culturally and linguistically distinct people groups, many living in geographically isolated communities with little or no access to the Gospel or to Christian communities that could share it with them.
In many of these communities, Christians represent only a small portion of the population, while access to Scripture, discipleship, and biblical training remains extremely limited. The geography, high altitude, language and cultural barriers, and other challenges make Gospel access especially difficult.

Yet there are opportunities to strengthen those already serving, equip local leaders, and develop creative initiatives that support a lasting Gospel presence in the region.
Reaching the Himalayas exists to invest in these opportunities — strengthening leaders, supporting workers, expanding access to Scripture, and developing initiatives that help the Gospel continue reaching people groups across the region.
Our work is focused on four areas.
| Strengthening Those Who Serve | We walk alongside missionaries and local workers already serving in the region, providing mentoring, encouragement, and strategic support as they continue their ministry in challenging contexts. |
| Developing Local Leaders | We invest in the biblical and ministry training of national leaders, helping strengthen their foundation and prepare them to serve their communities with faithfulness and effectiveness. |
| Expanding Access to Scripture | We support the production and strategic distribution of culturally contextualized Bibles and biblical resources, produced and distributed in ways that help expand access to Scripture in communities where biblical materials remain scarce. |
| Business As Mission | We invest in Business As Mission (BAM) initiatives led by national believers, creating sustainable opportunities for ministry to remain present in communities that can be difficult to access through traditional approaches. |
Your partnership can help support three strategic areas.
